Why ATOM feeds?

Though RSS hit the scene before and has been very popular but lately, you may notice that ATOM is not just catching up but taking lead (thanks to Google).

The question why ATOM feed is becoming more popular than RSS. RSS 2.0 has been COPYRIGHTED by Harvard University and frozen! Even though the standard has been copyrighted under Creative Commons. But, still the format is frozen leaving little room for evolution of standards and new features.

My Feed Reader SyncOne.Net supports RDF, ATOM and RSS. Does the work for me. Organizes using tags and Web2.0 features. Click here for SyncOne.Net.
