Totally street inspired.

Overheard in the street - "I can't spend 300 dollars, but I need an iPod, or how would I listen to my music". This person had a laptop and a Starbucks coffee and was sitting in the sun. The keywords (marked with font weight) that rung in my ears like the bell rung at Hiroshima every year to mark the tragedy there. The weight of the fonts indicates the decibel intensity of the keywords in my head.

Questions that crossed my mind in no particular order.
- Is this abuse, ignorance, peer pressure .....?
- Since when iPod became a need?
- Is this really that difficult, you have a laptop to listen to your music?
- Why just iPod, there are million other less expensive music jukebox?
- Starbucks - average coffee - $3. 3 x 100 = 300.
Considering 5 cups a week - 20 weeks - 5 months.
Don't have Starbucks for 5 months and you can afford "the need".

Allergic @&*($%&#

Excuse my hypocritical censoring of the title. I wanted to be little more hypocritical and add beeps but the technological handicap held me back. (Update: In yet another act of hypocrisy and prudeness, I have further censored the title. "Aligning my post with my original resolve to refrain from all profanities.")

My inspiration for this posting is this fudging post here. Below is a quote.

is baar censors ne kuchh nahii.n kaaTaa ... chaar gaaliyaa.N kaaTii.n; do m**darch*d kaaTe ek b*hench*d kaaTaa; ek aur gaalii kaaTii; aur jab usake liye hamane argument kiyaa ki sir ye aap kyo.n kaaT rahe ho Black Friday me.n se ... aise hii ye log baat karate the ... wo actually jab Tiger Memom kaa ghar jalataa hai puuraa maahiim jalaa duu.Ngaa m**darch*d kar ke ... wahaa.N beep aataa hai ... to chaar jagah beep aataa hai ... wo chaar gaaliyaa.N kaaTii hai.n ... aur jab hamane unako puuchhaa ki aapane ye kyo.n kaaTaa ... censor-waalo.n ne ... unakaa argument ye thaa ... counter-argument ... ki aap ko aThaarah ch**tye diye the na is baar?
What is hilarious is the bargain of 18 ch**tiya ... unbelievably LOL!
I am proponent of *responsible* free speech and yes, I do want to swear to my hearts content. But, "yeh hamare yahan nahin hota" attitude of censor board only shows a case of ED - Extreme Denial or is it just a juvenile prudeness of "meri mummy told me so"? I come from Delhi (FYI: India's capital) where swearing is as important as punctuations in archaic Victorian English (interstingly, Govt. Offices still use this too.). The remaining country is no different, yet use of "street language" is a big no no. An excellent piece of art like Omkara is phooh phoohed by my neighborhood aunties for its language but near naked song and dance aka item numbers, and violence is as normal as Adam and Eve's navel. To my non-Indian brethrens, NO, Indian's don't stop traffic and do a little song and dance everytime it rains.

Even though, I like free speech I add a little asterisk to it as *responsible*. Essentially, use your judgement *WHAT* to use, *HOW* to use and *WHEN* to use.

Taj, man's greatest erection for a woman.

I know the title is not original. Most likely you would have seen it on million and one people's t-shirt with via-agra in the following (find similar t-shirts at indobundee). But, there is a reason to worry and hence this posting.

Manhood is shrinking and size does matter; at least in this regard. Here is the article. Click here.

Lazy caffei-nation

Disclaimer: I have not had my second doze of caffiene since morning. Read this posting at your own risk.

I worked in San Francisco for about a year and I was required to be at work early (no fun). Travelling from South Bay to the city I used to stumble and crawl upon astronomical number of empty disposable cups of coffee before I would reach my desk. Considering I am not at all a morning person I never noticed the coffee addiction of this nation till two incidents recently.

1. Lazy: Now Starbucks offers drive-thru if you have not noticed already. One day I was in a rush and quickly wanted to drive through one of these stores. Seeing a long line of cars waiting to be served by this "park-thru" I decided I will walk inside and get my shot. And guess what, it took me less than five minutes and two cars before I had my cups of coffee. Hmmm.... I thought the idea of drive-thru was to make things move faster. And how lazy are we getting?

2. This morning, I bumped into more people waiting in line for their morning coffee at Starbucks than the number of people in the crowded elevator.

Warning: Thinking aloud without caffeine.

On an average people spend about $4 something on coffee at Starbucks. Let me round it off to $4 for calculation purposes and some of these people are monotheist about their coffee - i.e. Coffee is Starbucks or there is no coffee.

Agreement: These are total assumptions and I have no finance background. By reading further you agree that you are solely responsible for all consequences drawn upon you and the author in no way is liable for any consequence(s). Though if you profit anything from this you will owe 10% to the author.

In a month, if people buy at least 20 cups of coffee. $80.
In a year, about 240 cups. $960.
Investing this $960 in something that gives about 10% compounded anually, in 5 years this will return $1,582.66.
Not paying for kids college tuition and taking a payday loan - PRICELESS.

Do you know how Starbucks also translates into F*** OFF? Click here.
