PS to the previous post.

The first line was one of my biggest struggles while posting the previous post.

Which is correct:
1. Overheard *in* the street .....
OR
2. Overheard *on* the street .....

My reasoning was, since I stand *on* the street and not *in*side the street 2 is correct. But, devil whispered I am wrong and I stood choosing 1.

Your opinion?
